Last weekend at Event #5, the high school rippers of Division 1 & 2 tore apart Oceanside’s South Jetty to end the season on a high note before heading into next months State Championships.
The Scholastic Surf Series, a division of the Westen Surfing Assoc. (WSA), completed event #5–the final team vs team series of Scholastic SD High Schools–on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Oceanside’s South Jetty. Twelve San Diego Div 1 & 2 High School’s competed in 5-to-6-foot surf with good conditions. All Scholastic Surf Series competitors were treated to great prizes from The Wave House, SUPERbrand Surfboards, Ransom Wax, Body Glove Wetsuits, as well as complimentary subscriptions to TransworldSurf Magazine. The Scholastic Surf Series, a division of the Western Surfing Assoc. (WSA), completed the Orange County Middle Schools Surf Season with event # 5 on Saturday, March 12, at Oceanside South Jetty. Six Orange County Middle School teams competed in 5-7 foot surf with good conditions. The surfers were treated to great prizes from The Wave House, SUPERbrand Surfboards, Ransom Wax, Body Glove and complimentary subscriptions to Transworld Magazine for all Scholastic Surf Series competitors.

SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Monday, March 6, 2011) – The world’s best surfers lit up the three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) swell on offer at Snapper Rocks today as the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover completed Round 3 of competition. The opening event of the 2011 ASP World Title season, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast saw conditions improve for today’s Round 3, with the best performances of the event being logged by the ASP Top 34.

The new series, dubbed the Scholastic Surf Series (SSS) will provide a professionally managed and operated platform for school surf teams from San Diego to Santa Barbara.
