Scholastic Surf Series (SSS) is a school-based surf competition program that gives students the chance to compete in organized surf events while representing their schools.
The contest area is located near Lifeguard Tower 22, just north of the north jetty at South Ponto State Beach in Carlsbad. Access the beach via South Coast Highway — it runs directly along the sand between Carlsbad and Encinitas.
Free parking is available along Coast Highway. Paid public parking lots ($10–$15 per vehicle, all day) are located at the south end of the beach near the jetty entrance.
No dogs are allowed on the beach at any time.
Only propane grills are permitted — charcoal fires are not allowed.
