The SSS LA-SB Middle School section began the season at Summers Beach in Ventura, California. With eerie foggy weather it was the perfect setting for Halloween weekend. The fog never quite lifted, but it was just visible enough to see the surf. All the middle schoolers were frothing when they saw the waves. It was high tide almost all day which made for some rippable peaks in the 4 to 5 foot range. With the fog sticking around all day it kept the ocean nice and glassy. All the kids were ripping especially Pitas Higgins, Cabrillo who dropped a perfect 10 in his quarter final heat and went on to win the Boys Short Board final. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We are looking forward to a great season.

FROM THE SOUTH:
From Emma Woods take 101 north.
Exit State Beaches and head north.
Contest will be on your left side within 1 mile from where you exit.
Park along the beach head in to save space.
FROM THE NORTH:
From Solamar Beach take 101 south.
Exit State Beaches
Turn RIGHT Head SOUTH
ABOUT 5 miles down just past Solimar and before Emma Wood the contest will be on the right.
