SCHOLASTIC SURF SERIES
SAN DIEGO MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION 1
MARCH 28, 2015 – San Fernando Place, Mission Beach
The Scholastic Surf Series a division of the Western Surfing Assoc. (WSA) finished up the 5th and final event of the middle school series at San Fernando Place on Saturday. The surf was in the fun zone with 3 to 4 foot waves and a south swell on the way. Oak Crest Middle School took the win over Muirlands and cemented their season win 186 to 161. Jackson Butler, Boys Shortboard, and Koby Gilchrist, Boys Longboard both but a lock on the series win for Oak Crest Middle School. Brooke Young, Girls Shortboard, from Correia helped her team to a third place finish while Maddie Devilbiss took the Girls Longboard final and Patrick Root from San Elijo took the win in the Bodyboard Division. The middle school season will finish up the season with the Middle School State Championships on April 18 & 19 up at Oceanside Harbor.
