SCHOLASTIC SURF SERIES
DIVISION 2 HIGH SCHOOL SURFING
SB-LA COUNTIES
MAY 2nd, 2015 – ZUMA BEACH It was a challenging Saturday for our High School Division 2 SSS event LA to Santa Barbara. With heavy winds in the outer waters which chopped up the building south swell that was filling in and caused it to be all wind swell. By the afternoon the wind was blowing about 25 to 30 mph. Every school handled the harsh conditions really well especially Oxnard with 73 overall points and dominating the men’s short board division with 5 surfers in the final. Taking first in the men’s short board division was Oxnard’s Brock Piro. Wining the Men’s long board division was Aron Kinberg from Oak Park and also fellow team mate Emma Burns taking first in the Woman’s short board. And taking first in the woman’s long board was Marie Claire De Martino from Oxnard and winning the Body boarding was also Oxnards Evan Hilgenburg. Thank you to all our sponsors who make this season possible.
