SCHOLASTIC SURF SERIES
SAN DIEGO MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION 1
MARCH 21, 2015 – LA JOLLA SHORES
The Scholastic Surf Series a division of the Western Surfing Assoc. (WSA) finished up the 4th event of the middle school series at La Jolla Shores on Saturday. Fun size 2 to 3 foot waves were on tap for the day with the incoming tide bringing some good sets. Muirlands Middle School took a close win from Oak Crest Middle School with 238 points to Oak Crest 232 points. Muirlands had great support from their team with Boys Shortboard Jake Kelly, Berkley Eggers, and Mick Davey making finals along with Are Frapwell in Boys Longboard, Jake Kelly in Bodyboard and Tiare Thompson taking the win in both Girls Shortboard and Girls Longboard. The battle will continue this Saturday, March 28, as we makeup the 5th and final event of the series before heading into the Middle School State Championships on April 18 & 19 up at Oceanside Harbor.
