Yesterday evening, March 18, we lost a great friend from Coronado. Lorten Mitchell a former SSS coach from Coronado passed away. Lorten lost his battle with cancer and the Coronado surfing community is mourning his loss. Stan Searfus our current coach for Coronado Middle and High School said “He did so much for our kids and lead an amazing life. Our community owes him so much. I will make sure all Coronado surfers remember him and try to follow the path he set for us.” Our condolences go out to the Mitchell family and the Coronado community.
