Oceanside Harbor, So. Jetty – Nov 4, 2017

Wow what a contrast to our opening event with macking 6-8 foot waves at Avalanche.  All week we were wondering if we were going to be able to hold the event with the forecast calling for a dismal 1-2 foot and the possibility of rain.  Well if there was anywhere I would want to be or not want to be on this forecast it was Oceanside.  BUT Oceanside delivered on the waves and we dodged the rain game and ran our event in some perfect conditions. It felt like a cold winter morning with the offshore wind blowing down the San Luis Rey River but the waves were so perfect and the water was warmer than the air.  Great conditions lasted all morning and into early afternoon until the minus tide dropped out and the wind came up from the NW.  Surfers made the best of it and it came down to some pretty drained out tidal conditions in the finals.  Congrats to all of our teams, coaches and parents for sharing their weekend with us at the SSS.  Our next event for Division 3 & 4 is in January so we wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season and a very Merry Christmas.
