San Fernando Place, MB Oct 21, 2012

The Scholastic Surf Series a division of the Western Surfing Assoc. (WSA), kicked off the season with event # 1 of 5 events for San Diego Division 5 High School surfing on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Mission Beach.  Fifteen  Division 5 High Schools competed in 2-3 foot surf with good conditions. The Scholastic Surf Series would like to welcome our new schools: Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, Coronado, Eastlake, Escondido Charter, La Jolla Country Day and Mar Vista from Imperial Beach.  This season the SSS added 19 new schools to the league with 16 of them in the San Diego Section.

Directions: From the 5 Fwy southbound exit Seaworld Drive turn right. Go about 2 miles and exit onto Ingrahm/W. Mission Bay Drive.
Stay in the right hand lane and take the loop to continue on W. Mission Bay Drive until it ends at Mission Blvd. turn Left. The Parking Lot is on the Right hand side just past the Roller Coaster and the Wave House.

We’ll be set up at the South end of the parking lot on the beach…
