Scholastic Surf Series (SSS) is a school-based surf competition program that gives students the chance to compete in organized surf events while representing their schools.
From Interstate 5, take the Mission Avenue exit west toward the beach. Continue straight on Mission Avenue until it ends at Pacific Street. Turn left on Pacific Street and follow signs to the Oceanside Pier. The contest area is typically set up just south of the pier — look for Surf SSS tents and signage on the beach.
Paid parking is available in nearby public lots along Pacific Street and Mission Avenue. Limited metered street parking is also available — meters accept both cards and coins. Arrive early for the best access to the pier area, especially on contest days.
Restrooms are available near the pier entrance and adjacent to the beach parking areas. Dogs are allowed on the Strand and sidewalks but not directly on the sand. Propane grills only — no open fires or charcoal permitted on the beach.
