Wow what an amazing weekend to kick off the SSS 2017-18 Season. Mission Beach was firing on all cylinders providing 6-8 foot sets with plenty of 4-5 foot waves from a south swell. The weather was a perfect San Diego autumn with lots of sun and a summer like day. Oak Crest took the Overall Team win and wins in Boys Shortboard by Luke Butterfield, and Girls Shortboard by Veronica Hughes. Valley Middle School took 2nd in the Overall Team with Kevin Kraatz taking the win in Boys Longboard and Tommy Kelly winning in the Coed Bodyboard Division. Jordyn Kelly from Muirlands started where she left off last season taking the win in Girls Longboard. Outstanding performances from all our competitors in some challenging surf. Thank you to all our sponsors and parents for supporting our SSS kids in their sport of surfing. Our next SDMS Div 1 event is scheduled for Sunday, November 5 at Oceanside Harbor. Please remember this is a day change to a Sunday event.

Directions to San Fernando Place:
From the 5 Fwy southbound exit Seaworld Drive turn right. Go about 2 miles and exit onto Ingrahm/W. Mission Bay Drive.
Stay in the right hand lane and take the loop to continue on W. Mission Bay Drive until it ends at Mission Blvd. turn Left. The Parking Lot is on the Right hand side just past the Roller Coaster and the Wave House.
We’ll be set up at the South end of the parking lot on the beach…
