Welcome to High School State Championships for Individuals!

Entry Form and Fees Deadline is March 1, 2025
Individuals are responsible to register online — it is not your coach’s responsibility.

Entry Fee is $75 per student per division:
Mens Shortboard, Mens Longboard, Womens Shortboard, Womens Longboard, Coed Bodyboard.
You many enter in more than one division.
**If your school is paying for your entry fee then ask your coach for the coupon code.

Eligibility:  Active student members of a high school surf team whose team has competed in a regular season league against other high schools.  GPA of 2.0 or greater.  Must have been a member of that team prior to the last contest of the current season.

Non-SSS League Members:  You may pay an additional $10 to be insured under our accident policy for this event.

Acceptance:  Entries will be accepted on a first come basis until slots are filled.  Late entries may be accepted by submittal date if there are open slots. A roster of accepted entries will be posted a week prior to the event on the State Champs page.  If you are not accepted we will contact you.

Format:  Six person format with 50% advancement, 15 minute heats and top 2 waves scored.

Rules:   WSL and WSA competition rules apply

Division Heat Times and first-round heats will be posted online by Thursday prior to the event.

Awards:  First through Sixth Place in each division.


CONTEST DAY

  • Check in with the Beach Marshal 15 minutes prior to your heat.
  • Each competitor will receive a free T-shirt and Drawing ticket.  Please pick those up at the registration table.  We will be drawing tickets for prizes throughout the day.
  • Trophies will be given for 1st – 6th Places for each division: MSB, MLB, WSB, WLB, BB.
  • Sportsmanship Award – nominated by coaches and final decision made by SSS Contest Directors

Rosters for Individual Competition – Note:  There may be changes to the roster closer to the contest date as competitors may drop out.  These changes will not be posted here due to time constraints.  Those spots will be filled with Alternates.  Alternates will be notified as they are needed.

 Alternates
If your Entry is not accepted, we will hold your entry form and put you on the Alternates List.  Each year we use a few alternates.  As spots open up we start calling Alternates from the top of the list.  Sunday night I will call the first few alternates and ask that you be at the beach 30 min prior to the division start time in case someone does not show for their heat we will fill the spot with an Alternate.  For any alternates that do not get in the contest your entry fee check will be refunded.
