MANHATTAN BEACH PIER
The SSS LA-SB Middle School division had their second contest of the season at Manhattan Beach. It was the first event we have ever had at this location and the waves did not disappoint. The day began with howling offshore winds and perfect conditions. It was in the 3-4ft range in the morning and the swell began to pick up throughout the day increasing to 5-8ft. All of the competitors were charging, especially Talia Swindal who took home two first place trophies in WomensShortboard and Longboard. It rained for about an hour in the morning, but then cleared up and turned into a beautiful day ending with a huge rainbow. Unfortunately, the weather conditions prevented a few teams from being able to make the trek down to Manhattan Beach
