This event did not finish due to severe winds and unsafe conditions. Below is an explanation of how ratings will be handled for this event.
In an email to our coaches Carolyn wrote:
Hi Coaches, just wanted to touch base with all of you. Please express my sincere apologies to your team for not being able to finish out the event. I know some of the kids wanted to keep pushing thru it. But looking at what was coming at us weather wise we thought it best to get everyone off the beach. Once that wind changed and blew from the west it was a game changer. Everything was getting wet, including all of you huddled in your tents. It was amazing to see how fast everyone left the beach. As we were tearing down the wind and rain almost stopped but within 5 minutes it really started blowing and my crew needed 3 people to get the tents down safely.
We had GLB and BB end prior to finals. Those competitors will all get equal 6th for their finish.
The BSB, BLB and GSB ended prior to the Rep and finals. Those in the Rep will all get equal 9th place. The 3 competitors that went right to finals will get equal 6th place finish.
It has been a difficult second part of the season this year with all of the weather. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank You Carolyn & Sue
Directions:
From the 5 Fwy exit Oceanside Harbor Drive
follow the loop West.
Go left towards South Harbor Jetty. Follow the street until it dead ends at Parking Lot 10.
The contest will be on the beach.
Parking is $10 per day or free parking in the back lot under train bridge.
