This past weekend, the Scholastic Surf Series kicked off the 1st event of Div 1 & 2 (Coastal) High School surf teams in 4-to 5-foot surf with good conditions. Before the individual portion of the event was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions, Division 1’s Point Loma, San Dieguito, La Jolla, and Carlsbad ‘A’ won their respected matches in the peaky surf. Division 2’s La Costa Canyon, Carlsbad ‘B’, and Oceanside High had similar luck as Division 1 schools and will now carry a winning a record into event No. 2.
