Mandalay, Oxnard Beach – Nov 19, 2016

It was a beautiful day in Oxnard at the Mandalay event on November 19th 2016 for the middle school  SSS event LA to Santa Barbara. The waves were in the 2 to 3 foot range with great conditions. Unfortunately, with the super moon the week before we still had extremely high tides which forced us to have to cancel the event. The make up event for Mandalay at Ventura Fair Grounds could not have turned out better. With a building northwest ground swell the waves were in the 5 to 6 foot range and were absolutely pumping. It was a long day for these middle schoolers, but in the end it was Cabrillo who dominated and took first place in the overall team points with 241 points. Surfing countless heats and ripping all day Tyler Chiarappa from Santa Barbara Jr took first in the Boys Short Board. Local boy, Noah Johnson from Cabrillo was showing off his great longboard skills on this long point and found himself in first place in the Boys Long Board. It was a close Girls Short Board final, but in the end it was Noah Klapp from Muse who took the Win and fellow teammate Alana Witting (Muse) took first in the Girls longboard. Last but not least, it was Pitas Higgons (Cabrillo) who won the Body Board final. Thank you to all our sponsors who make this season possible.
