Oceanside Harbor, So. Jetty – Feb 20, 2021

With the help and guidance of the Oceanside Special Events Division we were able to complete event # 2 for San Diego Middle School Surf Teams.  South Jetty was cold and windy with some very strong offshore conditions.  Waves were fun and 3-4 feet with white water blowing the tops off the waves and the kids had to work really hard to drop in.  And another surprise when a new NW wind swell showed up with a powerful current that kept the kids paddling to stay in the area.

Even with the challenging conditions, competitors turned in some great scores.  Congratulations to Luke MacBeth from Valley A Team for his back-to-back wins in Boys Shortboard and for the perfect score on one wave = 3 10’s.  Congratulations to the Oak Crest A Surf Team for their overall win in SDMS Div 1.

Go left towards South Harbor Jetty
The contest will be on the beach at Parking Lot 10.

Parking is $10 per day or free parking in the back lot under train bridge.
