San Fernando Place, MB – Oct 23, 2021

Well Mother Nature did not hold back to kick off the season for San Diego High School Division 3 & 4 Teams. The first northwest swell of the season brought with it some 5 to 7 foot waves.  A lot of close outs but lots of corners.  The first heat of the day showed exactly what was possible when Timothy Fandey from Sage Creek surfed a perfect heat in the Mens Shortboard.  He won the opening heat with all 3 judges awarding him a 10 point ride.  Candelaria Resano from La Costa Canyon led the way in the Womens Shortboard heat scoring a perfect ride of 10 points. It was a great event for the opener and it was great to see our returning surfers as well as new faces after a year off.  Welcome back everyone.
