It was a sunny off shore day at the Ventura Fair Grounds for the High School Division 1 SSS event. The northwest ground swell picked up all night and by the morning it was 6 to 7 feet and perfect. Morro Bay showed their comfort in the sizable waves and ended up winning the overall team points with 78.5 points defeating Oak Park with 59.5. Taking the win with an 8.5 and 7.0 in the Boys Short Board final was SJ Murphy (Malibu). Chase Nelson (Santa Barbara) the birthday boy was ripping all day and ended up taking the win in the Boys Longboard final. Betsey Lee (Malibu) was surfing well all day and found herself a first place finish in the Girls Short Board and taking first place in the Woman’s Longboard final was Gracey George (Santa Monica). And last but not least, taking first in the Body Board Final was Collin Bosse (San Marcos). Thank you to all our sponsors who make this season possible.
